Opal Lighting Systems sponsors VIVID 2015
VIVID is one of the major events on the Destination NSW calendar and brings over 1.5 million people to the heart of Sydney. This year a few precincts have been added like Central Park. Opal Lighting are once again sponsoring the event by supplying their lighting instruments for a few installations, including TIDE, and ROBOTANIC.
We are currently awaiting delivery of light fittings from other suppliers to be able to commission a brand new LUTRON Lighting Control System for the main restaurant at the Mercure Hotel in Brisbane. The talented iLAB Lighting Designers kindly specified a smart LUTRON system for controlling all the light fittings included in their specification. Most of the fixtures are DALI driven and some circuits use phase dimming. Using two 16-zone DALI GrafiK-Eye QS and a slave ESN Adaptative phase dimmer, we were able to control the whole space with quite a lot less than 10K$.
We also supplied (on time...) a few OPAL LIGHTING downlight. We will be commissioning this project in the next week or so, so stay tuned for more photos!
Following our contribution to the lighting with Opal Lighting at the James Squire micro brewery in Newcastle last year, Collins and Turner Architects has again used Opal Lighting and Lighting Designer Extraordinaire Tim Barry of Victor Churchill Butcher fame to dress up the soon to open James Squire under the Conference and Exhibition Centre - Brisbane, aptly named The Charming Squire. We will update you with more photos very soon.
New CELLBoard, MILLBoard and INNOWOOD decking boards cohabit nicely on the Innowood Designex 2014 Stand. Opal Lighting provided linear LED profiles (Piccolo) and Tubo 7W Track fittings as well as LED spikes to bring the exhibit to life.
Come and see us over the next two days at the new Glebe Island Exhibition Centre.
It is a very confutable venue thanks to lots of natural light and very effective HVAC.
After the success of the Milky Way installation in Kendall Lane at Vivid Sydney in 2013, Opal Lighting is again sponsoring two light installations at Vivid Sydney 2014.
Milos Carkic who was one of the members of the Milky Way team last year has assembled a new team for these two projects with colleagues from SJB and PTW:
Angus A. M. Stevens
Christina Ann Rangel

We are delighted to announce that Archinterface will be on the stand of INNOWOOd for DESIGNEX 2014. We are also very happy to have convinced Opal Lighting to provide the lighting for the stand. So please come and see some fantastic new (and older...) composite extrusions and panel, including the amazing CELLBoard, as well as a range of interior and exterior LED light fittings and LED fluoro replacement tubes from OPTILED. See you on STAND 270 from the 28th to 30th of May.
Five large ceiling panels made out of Innowood battens, as well smaller intermediate smaller features across the width of the mall have been installed at the Mirvac Stanhope Village Shopping Centre in Sydney North West. One of the ceiling panels over the children playground includes Opal Lighting RGB strip lights controlled by a Lutron HomeWorks QS. A great synergy between three of Archinterface clients and a happy customer from Mirvac. We are currently doing another job for Mirvac on the Sunshine Coast with the same sort of Innowood profiles. Completion is due in June.
This is the newest member of the Genesis family from Opal Lighting, with the same characteristics as the other products in the family, but now also available in the very warm 2700K colour temperature.
We currently carry stock of the 2700K and 3000K versions. It is slightly more expensive than our unbeatable other Genesis products, but still very competitive. Call us for samples.
Archinterface has been instrumental in securing a large installation of Innowood products for the upgrade of the Mirvac shopping Centre at Stanhope Village.
Subsequently, Opal Lighting and Lutron were specified for the animated lighting feature over the new playground area. These products were chosen for their low maintenance, suitability of purpose and affordability. The client was also interested in having Innowood acting as primary subcontractor to supply and install the whole project within a very tight schedule
